Intern accused of sharing Gulu High court register details granted bail

Gloria Grace Laker, a Law Development Centre (LDC) student and an intern working at Gulu High Court, who’s accused of sharing court records about Bobi Wine’s case, has been granted a Shs 500,000 bail by Gulu Magistrate’s court. Laker was arrested on March 10 on allegations of illegally leaking court register details, which revealed pre-filed malicious statement charges against now exiled National Unity Platform president and former presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine. The alleged shared Gulu High court register Magistrate Ashraf Muyumba ruled that Laker was this time found worthy of being granted bail as per the sureties presented before the court Laker’s lawyer, Henry Kilama Komakech, said he will demand evidence from the court to show that the accused really committed the crime. “She allegedly shared the court register, and we don’t know whether it is true. We have asked the court to present the evidence, and we have not seen any, but we shall ask for it from the court,” he said. Laker will appear in court again on April 15, 2026, for a court hearing.
